Argentina

Jorge Barbaro has been around tea from birth literally. Born in a tea field in Misiones Province, Argentina (home to 95% of the country’s tea crop), Jorge didn’t need to read the leaves to see his future. Starting as a youth, Jorge worked his way toward becoming head of operations for a large tea factory. Over the years, he has shared his vast industry knowledge with smaller Argentinian tea producers to perfect their processes. Red Diamond is proud to work with Jorge, who now owns his very own top-of-the-line warehouse and factory, working with his children, Carlos, Dana and Stefano, to provide us with a crucial element of our proprietary blend – helping us to craft the tea our customers expect and love.

Colombia

Gustavo Granados’ coffee farm is located in the fertile hills of Bucaramanga, Colombia, where only a handful of farmers are lucky enough to take advantage of the pristine coffee-growing conditions. Gustavo is a true personification of Red Diamond’s commitment to those who value the earth and all that it produces. He and his family are stewards of the land, nurturing and growing their impeccable coffee crop amid this ideal high-elevation ecosystem – working alongside esteemed locals who are committed to the same level of perfection that makes Gustavo one of Red Diamond’s most valued coffee providers.

Panama

Situated near Boquete in the province of Chiriquí in western Panama, Jose Manuel Gallardo combines quality, passion and dedication to create a truly amazing cup of coffee. Following in the footsteps of his father, who first came to the region in the sixties, Jose and his wife Aileene continue to grow their family legacy through innovation. They’ve separated the coffee farm into five micro areas, each located in a different microclimate. All the coffee is processed on site, and the final preparation is done in a bigger mill. In the coming years, Jose and Aileene hope to dedicate more time and effort to conserve the rich biodiversity of the farm by investing in ecotourism development.

Honduras

Roberto Ventura and his family live in the western province of Ocotepeque, Honduras, where they have been producing coffee since the 1960s. What began as a small opportunity has been carefully cultivated into a successful family operation. At 1,300 meters above sea level, the Ventura’s coffee production is now being carried out by Roberto’s sons, Olger and Eduardo, along with their families. Together, they have created an alliance with other small producers around their farm to collectively help with production, financing and technical assistance, all with the aim to produce a truly quality crop of coffee.

Guatemala

Amidst the high mountains of La Democracia, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, lies the Castillo Morales family coffee farm. Not only does their farm produce impeccable coffee, it plays a vital role in the wellness of the mountain community. For more than 80 years, the Morales family has provided local workers with steady jobs and fair wages – enabling their region to produce one of the world’s unique full-bodied coffees. Our Guatemala Huehuetenango coffee has played an integral part in some of the country’s most inspiring life stories.

The landlocked southeastern African country of Malawi is among the world’s least developed countries. Its largely rural and rapidly growing population depends heavily on agriculture. Our partnerships with local tea producers are a driving force in generating economic sustainability in local Malawian communities. From improving roads, waterways, healthcare and education, to developing robust alliances with independent suppliers, Red Diamond is committed to supporting the ecology, heritage, culture, infrastructure and economy of Malawi and its citizens.

Vietnam

Robert Spirito has had a lifelong connection with our tea. Almost 10 years ago, Robert began working closely with the Vietnam Tea industry to improve everything from the tea quality, to supply chain challenges, to employee working conditions, and environmental impacts. Working closely with VITA, the Vietnam Tea Association, Robert was able to help establish training practices. A year later he worked in partnership with other groups to establish ways to improve the overall industry. Seven years later, this group has helped train over 9,000 farmers, increase wages by almost 30% a year, produce quality tea, and uphold the rigorous tea standards of Red Diamond.
